All in for Allis Chalmers Tractors

For Jeffrey Ramsey, Allis Chalmers is the family favorite tractor brand that everyone likes. That’s how it often works. Somewhere in the family history, a tractor is purchased and it gives birth to a loyalty that carries through to younger generations.

It was Jeffrey’s grandfather who first purchased an Allis Chalmers in the early 1950s. No cash traded hands to get that first Allis Chalmers. It was a straight up horse for a tractor trade. The grandfather thought he had made a pretty good deal. Little did he know that he started a family tradition.

Jeffrey’s tractor is a 1957 D14 Allis Chalmers. When he purchased it, the engine was stuck, so he went to work rebuilding it with all new parts. The tractor still needs tires and a radiator repair, but it runs great. This tractor is part of a foursome of Allis Chalmers tractors that the family owns.

Times have changed and the family no longer raises crops, but they keep the farm looking great by mowing hay. Jeffrey says these old Allis Chalmers tractors will always be a part of the family.
