Say Hello to a Tractor Named Sarge

You can never quite know how your memory will be carried on in the future. Sometimes it can be in ways you’d never expect, but that’s the lesson to be learned in this tractor story from Ryne Hunt.

Ryne had an older friend who gave him a gift. It might not be quite accurate to say Ryne received a tractor from this friend. It might be more accurate to say he received pieces of a tractor from this friend, but that only meant one thing to Ryne. He was determined to put that tractor back together.

Beginning from this starting point, Ryne had committed to a big undertaking. Working with pieces made the project somewhat like starting a jigsaw puzzle. That made it more challenging but also more satisfying once the tractor was restored.

Ryne and his dad went to work rebuilding and restoring it. The finished project was a beautifully restored tractor that made Ryne and his dad proud.

There was just one more thing to do. “Sarge” was the nickname of the guy who gave Ryne the tractor. As a tribute to “Sarge,” Ryne had a sticker made with the name and affixed it to the hood. Whenever Ryne looks at the tractor, he remembers his friend Sarge. It’s a pleasing way to remember a good friend of bygone days.
