The Next Generation of Tractor Enthusiasts

The love of tractors transcends generations. Take the son of Ryan Thornes for instance. At the age of four, the boy decided he wanted his own combine, so he went to work planting sunflowers with a 1969 Speedex S24 tractor. He then sold sunflowers for decoration to raise money for his dream of getting a combine. The industrious lad followed through and raised a sum of cash.

Seeing how hard the boy worked, Ryan wanted to make his son’s dream come true. For Christmas 2020, Ryan built a homemade combine to give to the boy. It was a hit! His son participated in a blessing of the combine parade and won his first trophy.

Now at five years of age, Ryan’s son loves farming and driving equipment. That’s an inspiring thing to hear. It’s reassuring to know that the love of farming and tractors is alive and well in the youth of our country. Ryan can also take credit for being a great dad who helps keep that inspiration strong by going the extra mile in fulfilling his son’s dream.
