Time Out for a Tractor Restoration

The Covid-19 pandemic caused significant disruption in the lives of people everywhere, but it also gave many people a chance to focus on doing something different. With the hustle and bustle of daily living slowed down, there was time for other activities and projects that never seemed to fit in the schedule otherwise. Some people expanded their skills at cooking, while others adopted a pet or took up a new hobby. For Dustin Hendrix, there was finally time to restore the 1952 Ford 8N tractor that had been in his family for generations.

The tractor originally belonged to Dustin’s grandfather but was then passed down to other family members as the years went by. When Dustin purchased it, the tractor was still in working condition, but it was showing its years. When everything shut down during the Covid pandemic, the time had finally arrived to undertake the big restoration project.

The project wasn’t simple but grew more complicated as Dustin and his son took the tractor apart. It was a great way to spend time together as a father/son project and the final results made everyone proud. The newly restored 8N works like new and sports a new coat of paint. It’s still a working tractor that’s regularly used.

The Covid-19 pandemic caused a timeout in many people’s lives. For Dustin and his son, the pause in their daily routine offered a chance to spend time together to restore not only a tractor but also an important piece of family history that touches multiple generations. This 1952 Ford 8N is a legacy that’s ready to live on into the future.
